The Valor Medal

The Valor Medal is a medal awarded to those who showed true acts of heroism and valorous actions under direct enemy fire.
This is the medal my brother, Chris, will be awarded on March 6th of this year. I can't share how exactly he earned it but he was able to tell me and it is truly amazing. He totally deserves it.
I am truly honored and proud of Chris and what he did to deserve this Medal of Valor.

Home at Last

My brother is home! He is an Army Ranger and has been overseas for the last four months. Because he is an Army Ranger which is special operations we have been unable to know where he is or what he is doing. Which makes it very hard to talk about anything interesting with him. There are only so many times you can ask him how the weather or food over there is. In fact, we got word while he was over there that he received some sort of medal but we could not know why because then we would know what he was doing. It's all been very surreal and worrying.

But his wife got a call yesterday saying that her husband was coming home. So at 3:00 am this morning he was back in the U.S. safe and sound. I can just imagine the reunion between my brother and his wife, Carly. What a sweet time. And below is a picture that Carly snapped with her phone when my brother saw their daughter Nicole. Just breaks my heart.

I am so proud of my brother and the things he has done for our country. And I am also proud of Carly and Nicole for living without their husband and father for four months. It must be so hard.

I'm so glad you are back home safe Chris. I love you!

Get to the Point!

Broadway Avenue Baptist Church is now known as Bridgepoint Church! I am super excited for this change! Our staff has been planning and prepping for this for the last five months! God has blessed this church tremendously in the past and I know He will continue to do so in the future.

Come to one of our weekend services this week: Saturday at 5:00 pm, Sunday at 8:30 am or Sunday at 10:30 am. It is the offical 'launch' of the new name and it's going to be awesome!

Blues and Greens and everything in Between!

Yup, that's right! We're having a rough and tumble little boy and we couldn't be happier! Steven and I would have been happy with either but we really wanted a boy first. And the best news of all is that he is a very healthy baby boy!

The ultrasound was simply amazing! We were able to see everything from his brain and heart to his nose and feet. I loved being able to see him kicking me on the screen and get to feel it at the same time. And I loved seeing him yawn and stick his little tongue out. He is truly a miracle from the Lord and I feel truly honored and blessed to be caring him.

After the ultrasound my mom and sister and myself did some baby boy clothes shopping! My mom and sister totally spoiled me and bought a bunch of super adorable outfits. And my parents bought us the stroller/car-seat combo which I love! And then that night we went and celebrated with dinner at P.F. Changs. And the fun doesn't stop there, also this week I've received some cute baby boy clothes and some maternity clothes from some dear friends. I love all of it, thank you all so much!

We have four more months until we get to meet our little Trey and I am so ecstatic. They couldn't go by fast enough. Although I am enjoying being pregnant too, so maybe I can wait a little while :)
